Katie Price Perfume- Precious Love

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Oil Free

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess- Black

China Glaze Nail Polish- Electrify

MAC Mineralize Blush- Dainty

MAC Amplified Lipstick- Impassioned

MAC 15 Pan Eyeshadow Palette:

Gesso, Vanilla, Ricepaper, Yoghurt, Hush, Sweet Lust, Shroom, Retrospect, Omega, All That Glitters, Honey Lust, Cork, Woodwinked, Romp, Mulch

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Coconut & Exotic Tropical- £2.99- Pharmacy.

Batiste Dry shampoo was quite a late April purchase. My mum bought it for me because she used up all of my old dry shampoo which was by Girlz Only. I was never really a huge fan of dry shampoo if I'm honest but this was a pleasant surprise. I had tried the minis of Batiste before and never really liked them. It leaves your hair silky, soft and FULL of volume. It's pretty big also and my mum paid £2.99 for 200ml from the pharmacy. I love this scent which is "Coconut & Exotic Tropical". I will definitely repurchase and am really considering getting more types. This is good for ALL hair types. Stay tuned for a review if I do pick up more.

Katie Price "Precious Love" Perfume- £14.01- CheapSmells.com (I got as gift, includes body lotion!)

I received this particular bottle of perfume from my little sister for my 18th birthday and it comes with a shimmering body lotion in a gift set. And I actually like (and use) the body lotion, which is rare for me! The bottle is really amazing and actually really classy. It's a mirrored, 3D, almost mishaped heart with a "diamond" on the top and a purple tint. It's 50ml, which will set you back around £14 (with the lotion) on cheapsmells.com. I've nearly used it all which is very rare for me as I have quite a few perfumes. That just proves how nice it is. As I am bad with scents here's an official description from cheapsmells:

"Precious Love is the new fragrance from Katie Price for 2010. Inspired by romance, Precious Love opens with top notes of Kaffir lime, dewy green leaves and drops of watery musk. The heart consists of dazzling blooms of jasmine and creamy white rose that blend with notes of fresh cotton, which lead the way to the base of palisander, amber, musk, vanilla and benzoin."

Really lovely summer scent plus it lasts a really long time!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Oil Free- £28 (50ml)- John Lewis

This is pricey! Good but pricey. At £28.00 for 50ml it's quite steep...or would be if it wasn't an absolutely AMAZING product! I got oil free as I have quite oily skin. I can REALLY tell a difference when I use it under my foundation! Even though I really hate Laura Mercier face products, this is a godsend! It smells a bit funky (always did) and can feel a bit thick when you apply it, but if you wait about 30 seconds- 1 minute before applying foundation it really works and sinks in lovely. It makes my face soft and helps my face products glide on plus it makes them last SO much longer! One of my must haves for the summer! It's lasted me about 9-12 months so it's a great investment and is to me worth the price. It has practically all gone so please excuse the oddly shaped, squeezed tube! ;)

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess- Black- £10.99- Boots

I love, love, love L'Oreal mascaras!! The original "Volume Million Lashes" was great but to me Excess is even better! I don't think there is a huge difference but I do prefer this one! I'm going to do a full review on this one and a few other mascaras in a few weeks time so stay tuned for that. :D

China Glaze Nail Polish- Electrify- £4.75- Amazon

I *believe* this particular polish was part of "The Hunger Games" collection for China Glaze but it's really pretty! The colour is a beautiful red and gold glitter and applies very nicely even though you need a good few coats. It lasts a good amount of time and doesn't chip too badly. I love this colour.

MAC Mineralize Blush- Dainty- £19- Debenhams

This blush by MAC is mineralized which I really like. I feel that it's not as heavy as other blushes but has a great colour payoff and gives a beautiful, natural look. The colour is Dainty which is a pretty basic pink. A light hand is advised as it's buildable but comes out quite strong with a heavy hand. Also I think that it has a bitter of shimmer to it but I'm not sure anymore.

MAC Lipstick- Amplified Finish- Impassioned- £14- Debenhams

This lipstick is by MAC and is of the Amplified formula. The Amplified formula is my second favourite, only behind Cremesheen. They are creamy but in my opinion often dry Matte. Though they are not really drying at all. The colour is very unique and hard to describe but is a very vivid pink with obvious red and orange undertones, sometimes looking red/coral. It's really pretty and at £14 is worth the money in my opinion. Definitely recommended.

MAC Pro Palette 15 Pan Eyeshadow Custom Palette- £11.50 (old) for empty palette. £10 for each eyeshadow pan.- Debenhams.

This is one of the old style 15 pans custom MAC palettes. Basically they are build your own. You just buy the empty palette holder and then can buy each seperate pan whenever you want in whatever shades you want. The palette cost me £11.50 from the MAC counter at Debenhams. And each individual eyeshadow pan cost between £9.50-£10 depending on when I bought them. I am always expanding my eyeshadow collection and constantly reorganizing my palettes. Some of the more popular colours in this palette are: Ricepaper, Omega, All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Cork, Romp and Mulch. Each one is quite different but a few of them are quite similar. They are all neutral shades with a few browns at the end. I use this palette every day without fail and they are really beautiful, blendable and just really nice. You can make quite a few different looks, especially when used with my "Smokey" MAC palette which I have just completed and will feature on here soon!

Well that's it guys. Hope you enjoyed. Please comment below letting me know what YOUR April Faves were and please also follow for more content.

New L'Oreal Caresse lipsticks review + YSL Comparison.

Hello all!
I know, I know! It's been a few days since I last posted and I did promise I would do this comparison post. I've had some camera issues (which will become apparent in the pictures) and didn't want to post to be honest because of the bad quality. I decided I would soldier on though so please excuse the bad quality pictures!

So L'Oreal has come out with these new lip products which have been compared a lot to the YSL lip products on youtube and on some blogs. As I own one of each of the original YSL products I thought I would do a comparison post.

But first I will just give my thoughts on the actual product without comparing them to the YSL lippies.

The packaging:
I really like the packaging for drugstore products. It looks quite sleek and isn't flimsy. The only thing I don't like is the see through lid. I HATE see through lids. It's redeeming factor is the top of the lip has a colour on it similar to the colour of the lipstick so it's not too bad. Overall its a B+ for L'Oreal with this packaging and I can see why they went for the infamous YSL gold colour look for their packaging!

The texture:

The texture is really nice and creamy. It glides on and is a pleasure to wear. It feels soft and glossy and to be honest feels (and unfortunately looks) like a lip butter. It's a nice texture and consistency and feels quite nourishing for the lips.

The colour payoff:

Unfortunately, the colour payoff isn't great for the lighter shade ( I only picked up 3, 2 of which were bright and 1 which was a  nude colour) 501, Nude Ingenue. It didn't make any difference to my lips and looked nothing more than a tinted lip balm or a very badly pigmented lip butter. However the two bright colours 07 Cheeky Magenta and 202 Impulsive Fuschia came out a bit better. There was definite pigmentation but they were quite sheer. Sheer yet buildable! You could definitely build them up with a couple of coats.

The lasting power:

They didn't last. At all. Nude Ingenue was gone within no more than 15 minutes and the other two didn't last longer than an hour. Not impressed.

Overall:

Overall, I was somewhat impressed with them as a product without the comparisons! The colours are beautiful in the tube but somewhat lose in transition to the lips. They don't last very long but they're good if I'm going out to the shop or somewhere where I won't be very long but want a lipstick. At £7.99 I don't really think they are worth it if I am deadly honest. That being said, I am not sad that I did buy them and think I will find some uses for them.

Comparison to YSL Rogue Volupte lipstick.

The YSL Rogue Volupte lipstick is one of my favorite lipsticks around today. They are so creamy and are very nice to wear. The L'Oreal Caresse lipsticks definitely reminded me of them texture wise and even had the same scent. They are roughly the same size. The YSL lipstick is far more pigmented and lasts a lot longer. It's packaging is to die for and is to me the best lipstick packaging of any brand!
I would definitely say that the lipsticks are comparable, but YSL does beat the L'Oreal version by far. Coming in at £24 for the YSL Rouge Volupte shine version, it is definitely more affordable to buy the £7.99 L'Oreal version.
YSL definitely wins the comparison, the L'Oreal is definitely worth a try.

Try them for yourself and let me know down in the comments below.

Boots (Drugstore) Haul! ft. NEW Loreal lip products!

So today I went to boots and bought my sister a little present. (If you read my blog you might of seen that I bought her the Nicki Minaj perfume as a gift recently.) She takes photography for sixth form in school and lately the photos she's been taking for her exams have not been developing because of the school's bad chemicals and she has been really upset. So I decided I would buy her a present to cheer her up just in case they didn't come out this time. Luckily they did come out and so this was just a nice little surprise for her instead :)

So as boots were having a 3 for 2 on their Loreal makeup, I definitely took advantage! Loreal has come out with a couple new styles of lip products which I had heard a lot about on youtube. Apparently they are comparable to the YSL lip products. I have one of each of the original YSL products that these have been compared to (both the lipstick and the lipstain) and I will be doing a review with mine and my sister's thoughts on these products, comparing them to the YSL lip products. They had some other styles of lipstick that are like the YSL lipsticks in the plain tube (I'll be a LOT more detailed in my actual review!) but I didn't like any of the colours really so didn't get any of those.

Lipsticks- L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in shades
Cheeky Magenta
Lovely Rose
Metallic Coral.
Lipstains- L'Oreal Paris Glamshine stain splash in shades
Eve
Princess
Lolita.

Then I bought the Bourjous chocolate bronzer, which is something my sister and I have wanted forever!

I also bought a 3D Effect Lipgloss from Bourjous in Beige Elastic as I had it before and wanted a new one! (This one was for me!)

If you spent £12 or over on Bourjous you got a free blush and I chose this really cute one in Ashes of Roses.
I then gave her one of the new Lip Butters from Nivea in Vanilla and Macadamia. It smells absolutely beautiful and she said it was really soft.

So that is my haul.
Watch this space for the L'Oreal lip product reviews!
