Blog revamp/relaunch! (Important info!)

Hey darlings!

So basically I am going to completely revamp and relaunch this blog. I have quite a few various projects going on and this is definitely going to be one of them from now on!

This is will be my FASHION,  BEAUTY and LIFESTYLE blog from now on.

It will include the obvious fashion and beauty posts but it will also have lifestyle posts too. These will range from a variety of things. From personal posts, to home decor ideas, to inspirational things. Basically it will be anything I want to blog about that doesn't fit into a category catered for on one of my other blogs!

That will remain on here:

WHEN SHADOWS REMAIN

www.whenshadowsremain.blogspot.co.uk

Posts will be at least three times a week and will be on either a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

The schedule will be:
Makeup Monday (Beauty Post)
Fashion Friday (Fashion Post)
Whatever Wednesday (Lifestyle Post)

There may be more things posted a week but WILL NOT be less!

* * *

I have made a WEIGHT LOSS blog solely for my weight loss, health and fitness journey.
I also have a weight loss Youtube channel now.
This will not be a scheduled blog but will be updated extremely regularly. Most likely something will be posted whether it be a short update or a in depth post.
There will however be at LEAST one post a week which will always be on a Tuesday and will always be a progress report/weigh in/update!

They can be viewed here:

I will be updating regularly about my progress on that matter and many other personal things on my Twitter and Instagram.

They can be found here:

Instagram: xfatshionx

I have also made a music blog where I will be reviewing and posting about music. Mainly Metal and things along those lines but I'll probably mention music in my lifestyle posts on Wednesday on this blog!
I don't know how often I will keep up to date on this website but will most likely post something on a Saturday and probably also a Tuesday. But no promises as that's more of just a side thing for documenting my music reviews and stuff.
If you're interested in checking this one out, please follow this link:

Finally, I have a fashion and beauty Youtube Channel.
I'm going to try and upload at LEAST once a week and that will probably be on a Sunday, though again I am not too sure. This will be where I post all of my hauls, OOTDs or lookbooks and where I do my more personal videos. If you would like to check that out and subscribe that would be amazing!

And finally I have a new email address that you can contact me on if you have any questions, feedback, need advice or just want to chat.

It is:

witheringshadowsblogging (at) outlook (dot) com

I hope this helps you get to know where all my other blogs and sites are and I hope you check out and maybe follow/subscribe to the sites you would like to see content from me on or that you are interested in?

I love chatting to people and making new friends and I also like to give advice so if you would like to maybe follow me on twitter and have a chat that would be awesome! If it would be a long conversation then emailing me would be awesome!

Thanks for your patience while I plugged all that lot! Hahaha!

- This blog will not be active until I have revamped it and then it will launch again! It should only be a couple of weeks whilst I get a layout and better design sorted but in that time I will be completely active on all the other sites mentioned above and will update on twitter a lot.

Please keep checking back and please follow me or subscribe to me on my other outlets. I do try and put a lot of time and effort into my blogging and videos and love getting feedback. I also like constructive criticism and things I can improve on so I would love some ideas on that. Also if you have any suggestions for types of posts I could do/that you enjoy.

Thanks for reading and hope to see a few more youtube subscribers, twitter and instagram followers and followers on my other blogs ;) lol.

Thanks!

OOTD- Going Gothic + BLOG UPDATES!

Hello darling's! Long time, no see!
So I have quite a few things I need to get off my chest as you may have noticed, if you keep up with this blog and/or have been a previous visitor. I haven't been posting :(
MAIN REASON!:
I haven't really had the time or the motivation to blog! Long story short, I started college a couple of weeks ago and due to my social awkwardness, I needed a lot of time to prepare for that environment again!
That being said, I also lost my love and inspiration for blogging and youtube. I don't really have the most creative mind and I find it quite difficult to stick at things.

I am DEFINITELY back because I really love blogging and I really enjoy making youtube videos also!
I just need to make a little decision about what I want to do. I'm going to make a video making and blogging schedule and decide what "niches" and "genres" (I guess) I want my youtube and blogs to focus on!

Corset: Ebay

Now onto less boring things! I love playing dress up and a couple of months ago I went through one of my more "gothic" stages. I love symphonic metal music and after spending hours obsessing over my fave symphonic metal bands, ordering a ton of CDs and wasting my life away watching music videos, I decided to get all dolled up and channel my inner "goth chick".

So here is what I did:

My studded leather jacket is from Yours Clothing. It was around £35 in the sale (I can't REALLY remember the exact price in the sale because it was a couple months ago) and I wear it religiously. Even with "normal" outfits! I wish I had some close ups of the studding details, but it's beautiful!.

Ignore the incredibly awkward pose!
The main outfit was made up of an awesome corset I bought ages ago from Ebay! It was about £20 excl. postage, which was a couple of pounds, and is great quality! I can't remember the actual seller, but it was a plus size Ebay lingerie store. I'd wanted a corset for ages and this one is a little bit too much now I've seen a few, but I love this one and will definitely be looking for some more to buy for when I get in a dress up mood!
I paired the corset with a long, black maxi skirt from Yours Clothing. I bought the skirt a year or so back and it fits really nice. It was around £24 if I remember correctly, but it's nothing special and I'm sure you could find a cheaper alternative somewhere. I wanted the look to be a bit more traditional, so that's why I wore a skirt instead of leggings or black jeans!

I also paired the outfit with some long, black satin gloves! I found these on amazon for a bit less than £10! I don't really know why I bought them to be honest but I really like them for adding something to outfits like this and I knew I would find a use for them one day!

My serious face says it all!

For makeup, I didn't want to overdo it with a black or purple lipstick (though I did actually try a couple different colours on) and I thought red might clash with the corset colours, so I went for a nude!
For the eyes, I wanted a dark, smokeyish look. I didn't actually get any pictures of the makeup itself so the above photo is the best I could do to be honest!
I don't think I did anything amazingly out of the ordinary here so I'll leave it at that for makeup!

I really enjoyed dressing like this and I actually recreated the look (minus gloves) for a professional photoshoot I did!

But this time I DID go with a dark purple lipstick!

I really enjoyed the gothic experience and I love the style in general!

Really hope you enjoyed my first blog post back!

April Faves 2013!

April Favourites for 2013!

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Coconut & Exotic Tropical

Katie Price Perfume- Precious Love

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Oil Free

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess- Black

China Glaze Nail Polish- Electrify

MAC Mineralize Blush- Dainty

MAC Amplified Lipstick- Impassioned

MAC 15 Pan Eyeshadow Palette:

Gesso, Vanilla, Ricepaper, Yoghurt, Hush, Sweet Lust, Shroom, Retrospect, Omega, All That Glitters, Honey Lust, Cork, Woodwinked, Romp, Mulch

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Coconut & Exotic Tropical- £2.99- Pharmacy.

Batiste Dry shampoo was quite a late April purchase. My mum bought it for me because she used up all of my old dry shampoo which was by Girlz Only. I was never really a huge fan of dry shampoo if I'm honest but this was a pleasant surprise. I had tried the minis of Batiste before and never really liked them. It leaves your hair silky, soft and FULL of volume. It's pretty big also and my mum paid £2.99 for 200ml from the pharmacy. I love this scent which is "Coconut & Exotic Tropical". I will definitely repurchase and am really considering getting more types. This is good for ALL hair types. Stay tuned for a review if I do pick up more.

Katie Price "Precious Love" Perfume- £14.01- CheapSmells.com (I got as gift, includes body lotion!)

I received this particular bottle of perfume from my little sister for my 18th birthday and it comes with a shimmering body lotion in a gift set. And I actually like (and use) the body lotion, which is rare for me! The bottle is really amazing and actually really classy. It's a mirrored, 3D, almost mishaped heart with a "diamond" on the top and a purple tint. It's 50ml, which will set you back around £14 (with the lotion) on cheapsmells.com. I've nearly used it all which is very rare for me as I have quite a few perfumes. That just proves how nice it is. As I am bad with scents here's an official description from cheapsmells:

"Precious Love is the new fragrance from Katie Price for 2010. Inspired by romance, Precious Love opens with top notes of Kaffir lime, dewy green leaves and drops of watery musk. The heart consists of dazzling blooms of jasmine and creamy white rose that blend with notes of fresh cotton, which lead the way to the base of palisander, amber, musk, vanilla and benzoin."

Really lovely summer scent plus it lasts a really long time!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Oil Free- £28 (50ml)- John Lewis

This is pricey! Good but pricey. At £28.00 for 50ml it's quite steep...or would be if it wasn't an absolutely AMAZING product! I got oil free as I have quite oily skin. I can REALLY tell a difference when I use it under my foundation! Even though I really hate Laura Mercier face products, this is a godsend! It smells a bit funky (always did) and can feel a bit thick when you apply it, but if you wait about 30 seconds- 1 minute before applying foundation it really works and sinks in lovely. It makes my face soft and helps my face products glide on plus it makes them last SO much longer! One of my must haves for the summer! It's lasted me about 9-12 months so it's a great investment and is to me worth the price. It has practically all gone so please excuse the oddly shaped, squeezed tube! ;)

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess- Black- £10.99- Boots

I love, love, love L'Oreal mascaras!! The original "Volume Million Lashes" was great but to me Excess is even better! I don't think there is a huge difference but I do prefer this one! I'm going to do a full review on this one and a few other mascaras in a few weeks time so stay tuned for that. :D

China Glaze Nail Polish- Electrify- £4.75- Amazon

I *believe* this particular polish was part of "The Hunger Games" collection for China Glaze but it's really pretty! The colour is a beautiful red and gold glitter and applies very nicely even though you need a good few coats. It lasts a good amount of time and doesn't chip too badly. I love this colour.

MAC Mineralize Blush- Dainty- £19- Debenhams

This blush by MAC is mineralized which I really like. I feel that it's not as heavy as other blushes but has a great colour payoff and gives a beautiful, natural look. The colour is Dainty which is a pretty basic pink. A light hand is advised as it's buildable but comes out quite strong with a heavy hand. Also I think that it has a bitter of shimmer to it but I'm not sure anymore.

MAC Lipstick- Amplified Finish- Impassioned- £14- Debenhams

This lipstick is by MAC and is of the Amplified formula. The Amplified formula is my second favourite, only behind Cremesheen. They are creamy but in my opinion often dry Matte. Though they are not really drying at all. The colour is very unique and hard to describe but is a very vivid pink with obvious red and orange undertones, sometimes looking red/coral. It's really pretty and at £14 is worth the money in my opinion. Definitely recommended.

MAC Pro Palette 15 Pan Eyeshadow Custom Palette- £11.50 (old) for empty palette. £10 for each eyeshadow pan.- Debenhams.

This is one of the old style 15 pans custom MAC palettes. Basically they are build your own. You just buy the empty palette holder and then can buy each seperate pan whenever you want in whatever shades you want. The palette cost me £11.50 from the MAC counter at Debenhams. And each individual eyeshadow pan cost between £9.50-£10 depending on when I bought them. I am always expanding my eyeshadow collection and constantly reorganizing my palettes. Some of the more popular colours in this palette are: Ricepaper, Omega, All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Cork, Romp and Mulch. Each one is quite different but a few of them are quite similar. They are all neutral shades with a few browns at the end. I use this palette every day without fail and they are really beautiful, blendable and just really nice. You can make quite a few different looks, especially when used with my "Smokey" MAC palette which I have just completed and will feature on here soon!

Well that's it guys. Hope you enjoyed. Please comment below letting me know what YOUR April Faves were and please also follow for more content.
